Ian Hyland acquired Business & Finance magazine in January 2002. Since the acquisition of the well known title, he has created a substantial business across the Business & Finance title and other media activities including the acquisition of Magill magazine.

Ian Hyland began his career in Irish Press Newspapers where he worked in Dublin and London on Major Accounts. He joined Business & Finance in 1993 as Sales & Marketing Director. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of iCommerce, the Swiss/US marketplace portal in 2000, but returned to acquire Business & Finance in January 2002.
The Business & Finance brand portfolio now includes business magazines and special interest business supplements, Top 1000 Companies database, electronic news & information and a range of business award programmes/conferences in Ireland, Asia and the US. The diverse portfolio of publications managed by the Group offers a complete overview of business in Ireland today.
Business & Finance Events has created eight world-class awards night to recognise success in Irish business, finance, IT and politics and include The Business & Finance Awards, Business & Finance US Awards, and the Business & Finance Asia Pacific/Ireland Business Awards. Managed by our events division, our awards recognise excellence and best practice, and offering high level networking opportunities.
Over the decades, some of Ireland's most influential business leaders and outstanding corporations have been recognised by our award programmes. Business luminaries that have been honored to date include Tony O' Reilly, Michael Smurfit, Denis O' Brien and Peter Sutherland and some of the outstanding corporations include Glanbia, Wyeth and Airtricity.
In 2007, we launched www.needavenue.ie the first Irish website dedicated to serving the needs of the Irish conferencing, meetings, exhibitions and events community. This independent website enables event planners and meeting organisers to research, identify and make contact with suitable venues in their preferred location with appropriate facilities. www.needavenue.ie empowers corporate event planners to search through venues based on their specific criteria and make direct contact with venue managers.
